News that a number of sports clubs across the North West are to benefit from a funding boost is been warmly welcomed.
Over 1 million euros in funding will go towards improving sports facilities across the region
Over €830,000 in funding will go to a range of sports organisation across Donegal.
In County Leitrim, €188,000 in funding is been allocated to sports projects including GAA clubs like Annaduff, Ballinamore Sean O'Heslins and Aughawillan while the Carrick on Shannon Rugby club is also set to benefit.
In Sligo, St Molaise Gaels GAA club and the Strandhill Community Park are the main beneficiaries, while the Collooney Handball club and Sligo Rowing club are all set to benefit.
The Secretary of St Molaise Gaels GAA club Thomas Kilfeather says the €60,000 funding allocation will help to benefit the clubs facilities.
