Major clean-up takes place on ’embarrassing’ footpaths outside local graveyard

A major clean-up operation has taken place on the footpaths outside St. Nathy’s Cemetery in Collooney after they were branded an ‘embarrassment’.

The operation was conducted by the Collooney Greenways support group along with the local tidy towns over the weekend.

In a statement, the Collooney Greenways support group said that the paths were in an appalling state, and an embarrassment on entering the village from the Ballygawley side.

The group also felt that it was disrespectful to those buried in the nearby graveyard.
