The Ocean FM Country Music Awards

It was the biggest sell out concert of the year in the north west last year. Ocean FM are delighted to announce the dates for this years Country Music Awards.

The cream of country music will be descending on the Great Northern Hotel Bundoran on May 22nd for one of the biggest nights in the country music calander.

The event is sure to be sold out with the line up of award nominees already including some of the biggest names in County Music.

Young Nathan Carter, who last year scopped the  ‘Best Newcomer’ award is once again back in the limelight after an amazing year.

“Nathans career has just gone throught he roof since last years awards. He is forging a new path for country music and will be a well deserved recipient on the night. His own band are doing the backing on the night so people can be assured of an amazing performance”, said Daniel Browne event co-ordinator with Ocean FM.

The lady who has been hot on Nathans heals all year Lisa McHugh will also be recognised for her efforts at the awards.

“Lisa has had an amazing year. After releasing a couple of stellar tracks that are getting loads of airplay and requests she has ended up being a mentor on Glor Tire for Ardara girl Grainne Gavigan. We are delighted to have her on the line up and know her fans will be looking forward to seeing her in Bundoran”, said Daniel.

One of the ‘Young Guns’ of country music that has been setting the scene alight is Gerry Gutherie. The handsome young heart throb has had many young country fans flocking to his dances over the last 12 months and has been picked up by the Big Tom’s management team.

“Gerry is one of the young guys that is really making a big impact on the scene at the moment. The Ocean FM Country Music Awards are all about recognising acts like this and giving them the platform they need to take it to the next level. It takes a lot of work and commitment to gget this far. All we hope to do is bring them to the next level”, said Daniel.

The other big name being announced for the awrds is the Queen of Country herself Margo.

“There are few people who have contributed as much  to country music as Margo. Simply she is an absolute legend and has managed to maintain a career spanning many years and fads. But regardless of the trends margo is always the Queen of Country Music”, he said.
