New playground to be developed in Ballytivnan

150,000 euros is expected to be used for the development of a playground in the Ballytivnan area of Sligo.

The funding has been allocated to Sligo Borough Council as part of the governments provision of playgrounds.

Its believed the funding was withdrawn six months ago due to financial constraints but has been recently reallocated.

Fine Gael local election candidate for the North Ward, Daniel McGarrigle, says he’s glad to announce the funding for the area.

Mr McGarrigle said “Im delighted this funding is being allocated to the Ballytivnan area. Its paramount recreational facilities are provided for the areas children and their families.”
