County Manager wants to relocate racecourse-Bree

The Sligo County Manager and Council officials have been once again accused of ignoring the wishes of Sligo Borough Cllrs.

Cllr Declan Bree claims that Hubert Kearns and senior officials are seeking to have the racecourse at Cleveragh relocated and the lands re-zoned.

This is despite the fact that elected members of the Council have voiced their opposition to the move.

Cllr Bree claims to have seen a submission made by Mr Kearns to the Department of the Environmemnt detailing plans for the race course.

He added that the Council Executive have no mandate to do this and Cllrs were not informed of this decision.
