Mountcharles residents to close road on 19th of June
Residents from the Mountcharles area have threathened to close a notorious stretch of road themselves if nothing is done to alleviate the problem.
The decision was taken at a meeting last night to block the road which spans from Turrishill to Inver on the 19th of June, if no action is taken to improve it.
The route has been described as treacherous and has been the scene for a high volume of road accidents.
Tanaiste Mary Coughlan said in Ballyshannon on Monday that the green light has been given for funding to allow for the roads resurfacing.
However residents are angry that no progress has been made.
FF Cllr Jonathan Kennedy said residents have given the Government a deadline of the 19th of June to have works started or else they will block the road in protest.
