Donegal Town meeting over council representation
The people of Donegal Town are being urged to come out in force tonight to have their say in the way forward for securing strong local representation for the town.
The meeting comes in the wake of the June local elections, whereby the town lost their local councillor Fianna Fail’s Jonathan Kennedy with the other number of candidates from the area failing to secure a seat.
Although the five councillors in the Donegal Electoral Area have vowed to work for the people of Donegal Town, there are fears that local issues may not be raised at the council table.
Tonight’s meeting is being held in the Central Hotel at 8pm.
Mayor of Donegal Town Paul Keaney is urging the community to come out and make their views known.
