County CDPs unite in fight against cutbacks
Donegal’s nine community development projects will meet tonight amidst uncertainty over their future.
The recent An Bord Snip Nua report recommended swingeing cuts to CDP budgets.
In two weeks time, projects will be formally notified as to where their future lies, although representatives claim this is being done without direct consultation with individiual CDPs.
A meeting on the matter is being held in Letterkenny at 7pm this evening.
Elected representatives and state agencies have been invited.
Siobhan McLaughlin is a member of the National Community Development Forum.
She says local protests could be the next step.
