Low number of burglaries recorded in Leitrim
Leitrim had one of the lowest number of break-ins nationwide last year.
A study by Eircom PhoneWatch out today shows that traditionally the month of November has the highest level of burglaries.
In contrast, February, May, July and August recorded the least number of break-ins which suggests the cover of darkness in winter is regularly exploited by criminals.
More than 3000euro worth of goods is taken during the average burglary in Ireland
The report shows the majority of burglaries occur in Dublin, followed by Kildare, Cork, Wicklow, Limerick and Meath.
