“ICTU protest just the beginning”
With just 24 hours to go before hundreds descend on Sligo for the Irish Congress of Trade Unions National Day of Protest, trade union members have said tomorrow’s action is just the beginning ahead of a winter of discontent.
Workers will take to the streets to voice their opposition to cutbacks in pay in both the public and private sectors.
Sligo is the location for protesters from across Donegal, Leitrim, Cavan, Mayo and Roscommon and is one of eight rallies being held nationwide.
Richy Carrothers from the IMPACT trade union predicts tomorrow is just the beginning.
