Sligo farmer elected ICSA President

Sligo farmer Gabriel Gilmartin has been elected president of the Irish Cattle and Sheep Farmers’ Association (ICSA).

The Ballintrillick man won by a margin of six votes in the election held in Portlaoise last night.

 In his acceptance speech Mr Gilmartin said he was honoured to have been elected president and vowed to fight for a fair deal for farmers.

Mr Gilmartin will take up his office at the ICSA AGM and Annual Conference in Limerick on December 3rd.
