Shop South West Scheme launched today
The Shop South West Donegal intiative is being officially launched today.
The voucher scheme is part of a bid by retailers to encourage shoppers to stay local this Christmas.
The vouchers are redeemable in a number of stores from Frosses right down to Killybegs.
The launch is taking place at 12.30 this afternoon in Ardara.
Killybegs Chamber President Noel O’Donnell says the scheme is all about supporting local jobs and local produce.
Meanwhile,
Donegal Town is also doing its best to encourage shoppers to stay local instead of heading across the border this Christmas.
A special three-day festival will be held on the Diamond from the 21st to 23rd December complete with markets and entertainment.
Co-ordinator Jim McLaughlin says the intiative is one of a number of ideas designed to attract people into Donegal Town.
