Rev Ian Paisley to be honoured in Sligo
The Reverend Doctor Ian Paisley will be honoured in Sligo this week.
The former first minister of Northern Ireland will visit the John Hume Peace Park in Banada on Wednesday after accepting an invitation extended by the local development association.
Cathaoirleach of Sligo County Council, Councillor Gerry Murray will hold a civic reception at Teach Laighne in honour of Dr.Paisley on Wednesday also.
Local public representatives will also attend.
Cllr Murray said that it is important that Sligo recognises the work of Dr. Paisley during the peace process.
