Weather conditions causing chaos

Weather conditions are continuing to cause chaos this afternoon with sixty minute delays reported on the Sligo to Carrick on Shannon road due to flooding.

Roads in Leitrim are some of the worst affected in the country with the N4 Carrick to Dublin road also reported to be heavily flooded.

The routes are still passable but extreme caution is being urged.

Met Eireann is warning the weather conditions are set to worsen this weekend.

Brian Farrell from the Road Safety Authority says motorists need to be extremely careful.
