No visit from Taoiseach to flood-hit Leitrim
Taoiseach Brian Cowen is today embarking on a number of visits to towns affected by flooding in Cork, Clare and Galway, however Leitrim is not on the agenda.
Much of the county is under water at the minute with Carrick-on- Shannon bearing the brunt of the adverse weather conditions.
Many roads across the county are still blocked, with diversions and signage in place.
Fine Gael Deputy Frank Feighan said that people in rural towns devastated by flooding are very disillusioned with the Government.
