Residents “shocked” by Garrison shoot-out
Details are emerging this afternoon about an operation by Northern police to foil an attempt to kill an officer in Garrison at the weekend.
It’s understood the PSNI had information about the attack and set-up a massive undercover operation.
The target is believed to be a new recruit.
A gang opened fire on his house in the Fermanagh town of Garrison on Saturday.
Five men have been arrested, one of them in Co Leitrim.
Meanwhile,
The close-knit community of Garrison is today still coming to terms with the events of the weekend.
It’s understood that security remains tight around the village today.
SDLP Fermanagh and South Tyrone MLA Tommy Gallagher says residents have been left deeply shocked.
