Drivers asked to slow down on icy roads
Freezing conditions overnight have made for extremely dangerous conditions across the North West this morning, especially in South Donegal.
Black ice remains in some sheltered areas around Donegal Town and Ballyshannon.
Gardai remain at the Coolcholly roundabout on the Ballyshannon/Bundoran by-pass where a crane has been called in to remove a lorry that went off the road this morning.
The road is passable, but motorists are being asked to take extreme care.
All routes in Ballyshannon are reported as being bad this morning, including roads to Belleek, Bundoran and Rossnowlagh.
The Mountcharles by-pass is reported as still being quite treacherous, a lorry jack-knifed near the Texaco garage this morning although traffic is flowing as normal.
Council gritters are out but motorists are still being asked to be extremely careful.
