‘Good Morning’ service seeking volunteers

A community service for the elderly is branching out into South West Donegal.

The ‘Good Morning’ service has bases in Inishowen, Falcarragh and Donegal Town and checks in with elderly people with a morning phone-call.

Staffed by volunteers, the premise of the service is to ensure those who may be living in rural and isolated areas are safe and well and proved vital to many during the recent cold snap.

The service is expanding and will available from Bundoran to Glencolmcille, Killybegs to Glenties, Ardara and the areas in between.

Frances Browne, project co-ordinator of the Good Morning Service in Donegal, said they are seeking volunteers from south of the county.

Further information is available from the service’s main office on 074 93 21598
