Another week for ‘Life On Mars’ suggestions
The people of Donegal have been given another week to have their say on which part of the county will become part of life on Mars.
The Donegal County Council public art project has been making national headlines as those involved decide on which local feature, be it a beach, island or peninsula will have a namesake on the red planet.
Early favourite is Island Roy in Mulroy Bay, which translates as Red Island.
The deadline for suggestions was due to be today, but has now been extended to February 12th.
Once chosen, NASA will officially name the feature on Mars after some part of Donegal.
John Cunnigham of the Regional Cultural Centre said while it may be an unusual story, NASA takes the naming process very seriously.
