January sees jump in Live Register numbers
There are now almost 9,000 people on the Live Register in Sligo and Leitrim.
The figures were released today by the Central Statistics Office.
There are now 5,279 people signing on in Sligo and 3,635 in Leitrim.
In Sligo Town, there were 287 more people on the dole queue in January compared to December, bringing the total there to 4,347.
There was also an increase in Tubbercurry, with the total there now standing at 932.
Nationally, around 13,000 extra people joined the dole queues last month with the total not standing at 434,700.
