Sheltered housing project for Dromahair

A sheltered social housing development in Dromahair has been given the green light.

Minister of State for Housing and Local Services, Michael Finneran sanctioned the four million euro project, which has been in the pipeline since 2003, last Friday.

The 35-unit development already has full planning permission and will be built just outside the village.

It’s hoped that it will provide affordable accommodation for elderly members of the community or those living alone.

Fine Gael Leitrim County Councillor John McTernan has today welcomed the progress in the project, which is expected to create up to ten jobs.
