670,000 euro for Ballymote library

670,000 euro has been sanctioned for a new state of the art library in Ballymote.

A new premises has already been secured in Teeling Street in the town to house the library and the funding will go towards fitting out the premises.

There has been lobbying for many years locally for a new facility as the current library is deemed unsuitable and is not wheelchair accessible.

Sligo North Leitrim Fianna Fail TD Eamon Scanlon welcomed the funding.
