Donegal the likely landing spot for meteorite
Donegal has been confirmed as the most likely landing place for a meteorite sighted across Ireland last week.
Experts at Astronomy Ireland made the announcement at a public lecture at Trinity College last night.
The specific whereabouts are still unknown although a coastal part of the county or near the Tyrone border has been cited as two likely landing spots.
David Moore from Astronomy Ireland told Ocean FM News that the public need to keep their eye-witness reports coming so they can hone in on where the meteorite fragments may be.
