O’Connell Street protest this weekend

Another protest is planned for O’Connell Street this weekend.

Its the latest in a series of demonstrations against the re-opening of the street to traffic which took place last December.

Sligo democracy, who oppose the move are still adamant the decision taken by Sligo Borough Councillors was not what the people of the town wanted.

They are taking to the street on Saturday to once again demonstrate their opposition.

Spokesperson for Sligo Democracy, Ann Clinton said despite the main street being open to traffic since December the decision can be reversed.
