European arrest warrant issued for Liam Adams
A European arrest warrant has been issued for the brother of Sinn Fein President, Gerry Adams.
Liam Adams is accused of abusing his daughter in the 1970s and 1980s.
He walked into Sligo Garda station before Christmas but could not be detained because the necessary warrant was not in place.
It’s understood he had been staying in a bed and breakfast on Pearse road in the town.
Liam Adams’ daughter, Aine Tyrell, waived her right to anonymity to allege that he sexually abused her when she was a young child.
Gerry Adams went on to publicly appeal to his brother to hand himself in and revealed that his siblings had suffered abuse at the hands of their late father.
