No change in Sligo Live Register figures
There has been no change in the number of people on the Live Register in Co. Sligo however both Leitrim and Donegal witnessed a slight drop.
Nationally the numbers of people signing on dropped last month.
Statistics for Leitrim and Donegal reflect the overall picture nationally with a slight decrease in the numbers joining the dole queues.
In Donegal 218 less people signed on in February.
However the figures are still high with 21,255 people on the Live Register last month, an increase of 21% on the same period last year.
The numbers dropped modestly in all local offices, with Ballyshannon witnessing the biggest decrease with fifty less people.
While the picture in Leitrim is quite similar with 49 less signing on at the county’s two local offices of registration in Manorhamilton and Carrick on Shannon.
However Sligo bucked the national trend with no change at all in the number of people signing on.
There still remain 5,280 people on the Live Register last month, the same as in January.
While nationally numbers fell by 2,300 with the rate of unemployment now standing at 12.4%
