Over 300 unfinished and vacant houses in Manorhamilton

There are 374 houses either vacant, unfinished or not started in Manorhamilton alone according to a report supplied to Leitrim County Council.

According to this report on so-called ‘ghost estates’, when this figure is added to undeveloped zoned land there is the potential for the development of 900 houses in the town.

In light of this Cllr Enda McGloin has called for a detailed individual breakdown on unfinished housing estates in the county.

In a bid to alleviate the problems with ghost estates, he has called for a committee to be established to tackle the issue.
