No phones being answered at local authority
No phones will be answered in local authorities across the North West between 9 o’clock this morning and one o’clock this afternoon.
Its part of an escalation of industrial action by public sector trade unions over budgetary pay cuts.
The Irish Congress of Trade Unions confirmed yesterday they would be stepping up their campaign which will include widespread work stoppages in the coming weeks.
Today’s action follows similar moves last week which caused disruption throughout the public sector.
IMPACT spokesperson in the North West Richy Carrothers said he expects the disruption will only get worse.
