Comeback for Killybegs St Patrick’s Parade

Killybegs is preparing for the town’s first St Patrick’s Day Parade after a twenty-year absence.

A new committee has stepped in to bring the event to fruition next week following the successful Halloween Parade in October.

The decline of the fishing industry in the harbour town has been cited as one of the factors for the parade’s revival

Spokesperson Mark Donnellan said members of the community who may have worked on the boats or in production factories now have more time to commit given the shortening of the fishing season.
