Dumped debris in Ardaghey dubbed “desperate”
A Donegal County Councillor has said it’s difficult to see what the local authority can do when it comes to combating the spread of illegal dumping across South West Donegal.
Fine Gael’s John Boyle has spoken out amidst growing concerns that Ardaghey is in danger of becoming a dumping ground.
Discarded fridges, beds and the remnants of a burnt-out car is just some of the rubbish that’s been binned along the Ardaghey Road, between the turn-off at the Ardaghey junction and Ardara.
Cllr Boyle lives just a mile away from the discarded debris.
He said it’s a “desperate” situation but Donegal County Council has no easy way of tracking down the perpetrators.
