Senator wants school focus on young entrepreneurs
Sligo Senator Marc MacSharry has called for greater focus on entrepreneurship in the Irish education system.
The Fianna Fáil Senator said the concept of job creation and innovation should be included in the curriculum at both primary and secondary level.
His comments come following the publication yesterday of the innovation taskforce recommendations aimed at increasing the rate of developing employment and company start-ups.
The report forecast as many as 215,000 high productivity and high tech positions can be generated over the next 10 years, if the recommendations are adopted.
However Senator Mac Sharry said the report needs to go further.
