Sligo Chamber call for tax incentives to promote tourism

Sligo Chamber of Commerce is calling for the Government to bring in tax incentives to facilitate development of tourism amenities in the North West.

President, Fergal Burke’s comments come in the wake of the announcement this week that the final stage of the Volvo Ocean Race will be held in Galway.

Mr Burke said this proves a huge opportunity for Sligo to capitalise on this international event by attracting tourists to the region.

He will contact local TD’s to put forward his views and is also calling for Government to consider subsidised loans to build upon the tourism industry in the region.
