Date set for Sinn Feins by-election action
A date has been set for a case seeking to force the Government to hold the Donegal South West by-election.
Sinn Fein took the action as the seat has been vacant for over a year since Pat the Cope Gallagher was elected to the European Parliament.
The partys candidate to contest the by-election Senator Pearse Doherty mounted this legal challenge and was in the High Court this afternoon.
He said although he was pleased that October 18th has been set as the date for this hearing, he is disappointed the Government are fighting the case.
