Sligo Senator Mark Mc Sharry has hit out at opposition parties,  branding their accusations against the Government over the Anglo Irish bank saga as ‘ anecdotal rubbish from the streets and gutters.

Senator Mc Sharry was reacting to the suggestion that the Government is protecting the 10 so-called Golden Circle Anglo Irish investors.

There has been outragre from the opposition as the Tanaiste revealed yesterday that the Investors will not be named in todays annual report from the bank due to confidentiality issues.

Speaking in the Seanad last night Senator Mc Sharry has called for an urgent debate on the accusations being made.
