Theft of home heating drums in Sligo

Gardai in Sligo are investigating the theft of a large number of small home heating oil drums.

 

The units were stolen from a business premises in the town overnight

 

An investigation is underway after 80 small home heating oil drums were stolen from a business premises in Sligo town overnight

 

It’s understood the items were taken from the grounds of the premises in the town sometime between 8pm yesterday evening and 7am this morning.

 

Gardai say the clear plastic drums are distinctive in appearance with green caps.

 

A Garda spokesman is warning homeowners to be vigilant –as its feared efforts could be underway to sell the items onto members of the public.
