The Manager of Bundoran Town Council Garry Martin says the Local Authority will be endeavoring to ensure that December’s monthly meeting of council will be a public meeting.
It comes after a decision was made during yesterdays meeting of the Town Council to go into committee after a member of the public who was previously advised they would have to agree in writing to act in accordance with standing orders of the council- didn’t do so.
The members of the council were informed by the Town Manager Garry Martin in accordance with Section 45 (3) of the Local Government Act 2001 that the council is entitled to go in committee for part or all of the meeting as members see fit and on this occasion they could do so in order to facilitate the proper conduct of the meeting in line with the standing orders of council.
But, Speaking to Ocean Fm news yesterday, Patricia McCafferty confirmed that she has lodged a complaint with Gardai in Ballyshannon in relation to the actions of Bundoran Town Council.
The Manager of Bundoran Town Council Garry Martin says the council will be reviewing its course of action given the restrictions and limitations which it operates within –to hold a meeting which will be open to the public.
