Council seeks meeting with AIB

Added: 03-08-2012

It's hoped a meeting between members of Bundoran Town Council and senior management from  AIB bank regarding the closure of the south Donegal branch will take place in Bundoran.

It follows the announcement by the bank last Friday that it's to close eight branches across the county including Bundoran.

The members of the council held an emergency meeting in the town council offices yesterday to discuss the issues.

The elected members unanimously expressed their concern over the closure issue. It's thought tourism will be badly affected by the decision to close the branch.

The council will seek to hold the meeting as soon as possible in Bundoran.

Meanwhile a meeting on the closure of the Collooney branch of AIB in Sligo was held in the Teeling Centre in the town last night.
