Future of Sligo Borough Council assured

The future of Sligo Borough Council has been assured by the Minister with responsibility for Local Government Phil Hogan.

Minster Hogan says he has no plans to leave Sligo City without a mayor in the future.

He was speaking at the Sligo Leader Awards in the Sligo Park Hotel this afternoon.

He says he is due to put proposals to the cabinet on the issue of local governments in the next few weeks.
