Heavy rain forecast for North West

Met Eireann says the North West can expect some heavy rainfall over the next couple of hours.

The rain is due to clear for a time this afternoon but will return again later this evening.

The strongest of winds forecast will affect the south of the country but there will still be some windy conditions across the region for a time.

Joanne Donnelly from Met Eireann is advising motorists to beware of spot flooding in parts.
