The GAA today confirmed the appointment of hurling mentors to weaker counties around the country as part of its National Hurling Development Plan.

Former Galway intercounty hurler Damien Curley will be the mentor in Sligo, while former Tipperary player and manager Eamonn O’Shea will take responsibility for Donegal.

Shane McClearn from Galway will be the Leitrim mentor, while Cork’s Peter Horgan will work with Fermanagh GAA.

The mentors will work with County Boards and provide guidance to team managers and coaches involved with county teams.
