Ireland's second oldest person has died at the age of 106.

Bridget 'Biddy' McGee passed away at the weekend at Dungloe District Hospital in County Donegal.

She had attributed her long life to a policy of early to bed, early to rise, and a daily glass of milk.

Ireland's oldest person is also a woman, Mary Kate Byrne from Maganey in County Laois - she's set to mark her 108th birthday next month.
