Just one Mayor in County Donegal will travel abroad for St. Patrick's Day.

 

The Cathaoirleach of Bundoran Town Council will travel to America for the festivities this weekend. Michael McMahon says he will be travelling at his own expense.

 

The Mayor of Ballyshannon John Meehan will lead out the parade in the town this St. Patrick's Day while the Mayor of Donegal Noel McBride will not be carrying out any functions abroad this year on behalf of the county.

 

Speaking to Ocean Fm news, Michael McMahon says he will be representing the people of Bundoran in New York and Boston but he says the trip is not being funded by the tax payer.
