Leitrim championships get underway

The Leitrim senior and intermediate championships got underway at the weekend.

Melvin Gaels and Glencar/Manorhamilton drew in the big game, while Bornacoola and Aughawillan also drew, though Mohill, Annaduff, St Mary’s and Allen Gaels all made winning starts.
In the intermediate, there were wins for Dromahair, Aughavas, Aughnasheelin, Cloone, Gortletteragh and Glenfarne/Kiltyclogher.
And Pippa O’Connor guided Naomh Brid to victory over St Mary’s of Westmeath in Ballintra in their Celebrity Bainisteoir quarter-final.
