The main concerns raised at a meeting between management and staff at Cregg House in Sligo this morning centered around the continuation of services for users of the facility.
The meeting was held to discuss the impact of a decision by the Daughters of Wisdom to withdraw their services from Cregg House
The meeting got underway at 11am this morning and the remaining staff members are due to be briefed around now (2pm).
It follows a decision by the Daughters of Wisdom to end their role as service providers
as they claim they can no longer provide the level of care needed following a 1.3 million euro funding cut.
Cregg House provides care, education and support for over 200 people with intellectual disabilities from the North Western region
In a statement to Ocean Fm news this afternoon a spokesperson for the HSE says discussions are already taking place with Wisdom Services in relation to the transition process and will be ongoing over the next number of weeks.
Industrial Relations Officer with the Irish Nurse and Midwives Organisation, Noel Trainer, says employees were primarily concerned about service users.
