The Minister for Health has dismissed claims the numbers of people waiting on trolleys for treatment at Sligo General Hospital are being manipulated.
Roscommon South Leitrim Independent Deputy Denis Naughton raised the issue at a joint Oireachtas Committee on Health and Children yesterday.
Deputy Naughten suggested patients in the hospital were being "moved around" to avoid inclusion in a trolley count.
Speaking in front of the committee yesterday Minister James Reilly dismissed the claims.
The Irish Nurses and Midwifes Organisation provide daily figures on the amount of patients waiting on trolleys at the hospital and today that figures stands at 12.
Deputy Naughton says the matter is now under investigation.
