Our senior team played Eastern Harps on Saturday in Keash. We got off
to a good start and registered some good scores. Harps were quick to
respond with a point of their own. Although Harps had a few more
chances they did not add another score in the half, our lads were a
bit more accurate in from of goal and went in at half time leading
1-03 to 0-01. Harps got off to the better start in the second half
registering 3 points in quick succession. We responded well with a
goal but Harps continued the scoring throughout the half and  opened a
4 point lead towards the end, we rallied in the last few minutes and
added three unanswered points but alas we could not get teh final
score needed and lost out in teh end by a score of 2-07 to 1-10. The
team that started was Noel Hynes, Eoin Flannigan, David Burke, Neil
Hayse, Feidhlim Murphy, Niall Walsh (C), Micky O'Hehir, Fergal Kelly
(0-01), James Murphy, Oisin Cox, Tommy Kelly (1-01), Shane Stenson,
Ian Rossiter (1-03), Brian Harris (0-02), Dara McGarty. Subs used:
Kieran Walsh, Robbie Fahy, Kieran Blake. Best on the day were Eoin
Flannigan, Tommy Kelly and Ian Rossiter. That was our final league
game and we have finished a respectable 4th place in Division 1. Well
done to all involved and full steam ahead for the championship.

Junior A played Coolera-Strandhill in our final must win league game.
We needed a big performance to gain promotion to division 2 and we did
not disappoint. The lads put it up to Coolera from the get go and
started adding good scores early on. We went with a good half time
lead and capitalized on this in the second half to win convincingly in
the end by a score of 3-10 to 1-06. A great result and promotion to
division 2 for the lads after a hard league campaign. Congratulation
to all involved and hopefully we can continue this for eth
championship. We play St Marys on Wednesday night in Cuilbeg, in the
semi final of the north division championship. All Junior players are
expected to be there.

Junior B played Owenmore Gaels on Sunday in Cuilbeg. We started well
and with some good play added early scores. Owenmore responded and
added scores of their own but we went in at half time with a three
point lead. Owenmore added the first few scores of the second half but
we were not fazed by this and held on, adding great scores of our own,
to win in the end by a score of 1-09 to 1-06. The team that started
was Fiachra Mooney, Conor Heffernan (C), Eoin O'Sullivan, John
McNulty, Robbie Fahy, Terry Farrelly, Daniel Smith, Noel Hynes, Robbie
Galvin, Andrew Vallely, Phillip, Ray Henry, John Reilly, Geoff Gordon,
James Gethins. Subs used: Dylan Healy, Ronan Currid, James Noonan,
Andrew. Best on the days for Johns were Robbie Galvin & Terry
Farrelly. We play Owenmore Gaels again next Saturday in the
championship preliminary round first leg.

Well done to all involved in the cake sale last weekend in aid of the
Marcus Moore appeal. A lot of work was put in by club members and we
would like to thank all who brought cakes and buns for the sale.

The club would like to wish Charlie Harrison, David Rooney, Phillip
Greene and Sligo team the very best of luck against Mayo in this
weekends Connaught Final. We will be supporting you and hopefully you
can bring home the Nestor Cup.

Membership is now due for all club members, playing and non-playing.
Please contact any of the executive committee to register or do so at
the meeting this Wednesday. Lotto tickets are also available; they
cost €50 or €10 direct debit for 5 months and are valid for 26 draws
throughout the year. We need all club members to pay membership and
buy a lotto ticket as the club has a lot of outgoings (€15000 to the
county board for referees, registration etc) that needs to be covered
and this can only be achieved with your help.

If you would like any information included in the weekly club notes
please contact club PRO Andrew Vallely on 0868194901 or email
pro.stjohns.sligo@gaa.ie before 9pm on Sunday night. Also follow St
