Tanaiste to attend MacGill Summer School

Up to fifty speakers inclduing a range of nationals politicians will travel to Glenties from next week to attend the Annual MacGill Summer School & Arts Week which will be officially launched this Sunday.

The Tanaiste, Eamon Gilmore will be in attendance and deliver the Twelfth Annual John Hume Lecture.

The event in its 32nd year, was founded in 1981 and to this day continues to celebrate the memory of local writer, Patrick MacGill.

This year's theme is Reforming and Rebuilding the Republic-and includes an array of topicsfrom Cherishing the Children of the Nation, to the Future of the Catholic Church in Ireland.

The event will run from Sunday July 22nd until Friday July 27th.
