Taoiseach award for IT Sligo

IT Sligo has received a prestigious "Taoiseach's Public Service Excellence Award" in recognition of its role in  increasing access to higher education for part-time and distance learners  through online delivery.

Almost eight hundred students took part in online courses in 2012, the only institute in the country to be teaching technical subjects entirely online.

Students from around the globe including South Africa, Sierra Leone, Arizona, New York and Israel undertook exams through the I.T. last month

Professor Terri Scott says the award is recognition of IT Sligo as a leader in online learning.
