Woman killed in Donegal house fire

Gardaí in Co. Donegal are investigating a house fire last night which claimed the life of a 40-year old woman.

The alarm was raised at about 9.30pm and the body of a woman was found in the hallway of the house at Dunmore Lane, Falcarragh.

It's understood the woman lived alone in the house.

Gardai say there was evidence of a fire in the living room which had extinguished itself sometime earlier.

The scene has been preserved for a forensic examination and a post mortem is due to take place on the woman's body tomorrow.

At this stage Gardaí are treating the incident as a tragic accident.
