The sun’s shining . . . but be cautious near water



Ireland’s main water safety bodies are warning of a major rise in incidents during the current spell of warm weather.

The Coast Guard says lifeboats were called out to 23 incidents on Irish waters yesterday alone.

The Irish Coast Guard, the RNLI and Irish Water Safety are calling on people to exercise caution in or around water.

Shane Smyth, Volunteer Lifeboat Press Officer for Bundoran RNLI, says people should be aware of the dangers that can occur near water.
